    Dialogic Software Updates

You can get v6.0 software at http://www.dialogic.com/support/helpweb/mg/downloads.htm

The screens have been reorganized, I think for the better.  Please note that TDM and VOIP call control is now more defined.  This update may break inbound call routing due to this more defined seperation.  It affected me more because I had setup Trunk Groups to route particular numbers.

You can now refresh a single T1 on the DMG2120s without rebooting the gateway.  Sweet!

Martial is correct about the update affecting inbound calls. You define your endpoints for inbound calls completely differently in this release and your old endpoint settings are not kept during an upgrade. Make sure you familiarize yourself with the Routing Table section before rolling out into production.

I do think the new layout is a lot cleaner. And the new help is a really nice improvement.

My only complaint is with the new tone learning system. I preferred the old format where you plugged in a set of numbers and it went about learning and configuring the tones for you. Now you have to run the leaning process for each type individually and resolve conflicts with exiting tone configuration manually.

The update went smoothly on my DMG1008LS. Be sure to check and see if your serial number is supported.

It does break call routing and it took me a few minutes to find where things are setup in the new interface. The routing table for Inbound TDM Rules still had my analog phone lines defined but I had to create a new VOIP Host Group to point to the Speech Server IP.

Then under the Inbound TDM Rules for my home phone I had to set the Outbound Destination to VOIP and then set the Host Group to point to the new host group I created.

I do like the new interface and especially the way that help is done in the new interface. All told in only took about 6 or 7 minutes to do the install and get things configured so that I was back and functioning again.
