Hello everyone,
I am a .Net developer completely new to voice applications.
I work for a bank that was part of the Speech Server 2004 pilot program for our IVR system. We are still using this application and our configuration consists of 8 TAS's (With Dialogic boards), 10 SES's, and 2 Web servers. The one thing that has been repeated over and over by upper management is that the application works well as long as no changes are made.
The problem: Major changes.
The powers that be are asking for major changes and we are not allowed the option of making any hardware changes or upgrading to OSC 2007 Speech Server. None of the people that worked on the original project are with the company and the application is virtually undocumented. There was a single change made to the application by a consultant, but it took almost six months and that consultant is unavailable. The requested changes are 2-3 times as large and they want it completed in about 4 months. Additionally, the development team is isolated from the hardware and IVR operations.
Question:
Are there any IVR / Speech Server 2004 ninja developer/consultants out there? Can anyone recommend a consulting company? Does anyone have any suggestions of any kind that might be helpful? Resources to get up to speed would also be recommended. After spending a few days on the documentation and tutorial, the only thing I have really learned is how much I don't know. Our operations center is just north of Houston, so a Texas based company or individual would be preferred, but it is not required.
Any help, thoughts, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated,
Burrell
