Speech Synthesis and Recognition
Mistakes...

#1 - I used Hungarian notation, I really try hard not use this anymore.
So for readability instead of qaDate should be askDate. Hungarian notation is dead...or at least should be.

#2 - SALT is not a W3C standard. Man are the VoiceXML guys going to have my @$$! The point that you should take out of the book is that in my opinion that SALT and VoiceXML are equal, and that Voice Response Workflow is a much better way to go. SALT and VoiceXML are sooo 1990's.

#3 - I don't think I described the Concept grammars very well. It could of been done better.

If you find some mistakes in my book please let me know, or if you have a question, post it on the forums or email me directly.

Your book has been ordered and I’m impatiently awaiting its arrival.  We have been researching the new Speech server and development platform since it became public and found it interesting that we reached a similar conclusion as you regarding Hungarian notation although rather than prefix the function name with a data type we decided to use a verb prefix to describe the activity such as ask, code, stmt, etc.  And thank you very much indeed for stating that Workflow rulez and SALT sucks; there is absolutely no comparison.

Workflow and .NET are way better than SALT or VoiceXML. But I do get the argument that VoiceXML and SALT are open standards, which is true...but a lot of platforms add thier own extensions to either language and if you use those extensions are you really gaining anything? So while .NET isn't a standard, I think .NET is acceptable in Windows & Web development as a standard OOP language...so why not IVR?
