GotSpeech.Net Selected for the Microsoft Speech Server 2007 Technology Adoption Program

GotSpeech.Net begins early evaluations of the next version of Microsoft’s speech and telephony platform

Jacksonville Florida — June 29, 2006 —  GotSpeech.Net , The online community for Microsoft speech Developers, today announced it is participating in the Microsoft Speech Server 2007 Technical Adoption Program (TAP). As a TAP participant, GotSpeech.Net has had the unique opportunity to evaluate and begin building on the pre-release of Speech Server 2007 over the last several months. A select group of companies were chosen to participate in the Speech Server 2007 TAP based on their experience with and innovative use of the Speech Server platform.

GotSpeech.Net is a group of Microsoft Speech Server developers working together through a web-community to promote Speech Server and improve developer skills. It is the only community on the Internet dedicated to Microsoft Speech Server and provides its members with forums, articles and code downloads all designed to promote the awareness and use of Speech Server. “We are pleased to be a part of the Microsoft Speech Server 2007 TAP. The TAP allows us to gain early insight into how Speech Server 2007 works, how it will benefit our members and allows us to better support our members as they adopt the new technology. When Speech Server 2007 is released we will be here ready to provide support and assistance.” said Marshall Harrison, GotSpeech.Net co-founder.

“The Speech Server TAP provides our innovative customers and partners with the opportunity to evaluate Speech Server 2007 and ultimately influence the product through their feedback,” said Clint Patterson, director of product management for Microsoft Speech Server. “Speech Server 2007 is opening up speech and telephony options for companies across the board, and we’re pleased with the great feedback provided by our TAP participants.”

Microsoft Speech Server is Microsoft’s interactive voice response (IVR) platform and provides the tools, run-time environment, and services needed for speech-enabled telephony applications on a single, integrated platform. Speech Server 2007 is scheduled for release in late 2006.

Brandon is right - we can't start talking about it yet.

But I'm in contact with the Speech Server team on an almost daily basis and as soon as I can get permission we will open a forum.

What the press release means is that I and some of our regular members have been using 2007 via the TAP affiliation for several months now. When 2007 goes to release we will be already have an experienced core group (TAP + Beta participants) ready to provide support in the forums.

Thanks for the clarification Marshall-I was wondering what the release actually meant.

Fight club rules still apply until RTM then...

I probably should have explained what it meant in the blog post but I didn't. The content of the press release had to be approved by Microsoft and I was afraid to add an explanation to the wording they had sanctioned.

I'm wearing my "marketing" hat now and I wanted everyone to know that we are on top of things with regards to MSS 2007.
